THE PENNFIELD BAND BOOSTERS

PURPOSE:To sponsor
and enhance the instrumental music appreciation and competence of Pennfield
School students through support and assistance of the school music program
and band activities.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
In the past ten years (1993-2003), the Pennfield Band Boosters have provided
the following items for the Pennfield band program:
- Musical Instruments
including tubas, french horns, marching percussion, cornets, bassoons, oboes,
bass clarinets, and others ($30,000 at all grade levels).
- Uniform purchase
and maintenance for the middle and high school bands, including new high school
marching and concert band uniforms in 1994 ($18,000 at all grade levels).
- High School
Band Camp Staff and supplies (exceeding $50,000 over 10 years)
- Private Lesson
Scholarship and "Booster Bucks" program (more than $15,000 total at all grade
levels)
The Band Boosters also
provide numerous other services and items that benefit band students at
all levels, including:
- Financial support
in supplying instruments, personal uniform items, band books, and solo/ensemble
accompaniment for economically disadvantaged students.
- Introductory lessons
for students beginning on "special" instruments such as bassoon, oboe, and
horn.
- Guest conductors
and clinicians.
- Band awards and
the Band Awards Banquet.
- Food "treats"
and other rewards for the students' hard work and participation.
- Support and organization
of student fund raisers.
THE
"BOTTOM LINE": All of these services and activities are made possible
through the efforts of band parents and other supporters who donate their
time to work in concession stands, organize fund raisers, and help with
