BLAKE DRIVER
Blake Driver is in his first year as Director of Bands, after spending four years as the Assistant Director. Mr. Driver is a native of Jamestown, North Dakota, but grew up in the Holland area. Mr. Driver credits his high school band director, Mr. Dean Christopher, as his inspiration to become a music educator. He holds an Associates Degree from Finlandia University, a Bachelor's degree in trombone performance from Northern Michigan University, a teaching certificate from Aquinas College, and in 2008, he completed his Master's Degree in Conducting from the American Band College of Southern Oregon University. Mr. Driver is married to Julie and they have a dog named Cassie. In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis, playing the guitar, and riding his motorcycle. He plays trombone, guitar, and sings for an area rock band called Kalamazoo Avenue.
CHUCK DIXON
Chuck Dixon is in his first year as Assistant Director of Bands
at Pennfield. Before coming to Pennfield, he was the Director
of Bands at Bellevue Community Schools for over 15 years. Mr.
Dixon holds degrees in Music Education from Olivet College and
VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois. He has performed
with the Kalamazoo Concert Band, Brass Band of Battle Creek,
as well as several local community bands. He is a member of
the professional music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and
the Michigan School Band and Orchestra (MSBOA). In addition
to his teaching duties, Mr Dixon provides tech support with
the district Technology Department and oversees the technical
aspects of the Pennfield Performing Arts Center.
