Letter from the Superintendent:

As I reflect on my first three months as the Superintendent of Pennfield Schools, I am in awe of the positive attitude that is present everywhere I look.   It is a pleasure to work in an area where the pride in one’s school is so evident.  I am amazed at the efforts that parents, community members and all school employees put forth to enable our students to have the very best opportunity for success both within and outside the classroom. 

This year the Pennfield Schools continue to look forward in anticipating the needs of our students.  The District Advisory Committee (DAC) has currently untaken the task of reviewing an all day-every day kindergarten format and what that would mean for Pennfield Schools.    Even though the State of Michigan looks to require an all day kindergarten,  we at Pennfield want to make sure we make this change in a manner that best suites the needs of all our students.  This change will impact several areas within the District and the DAC is committed to getting all the information and data they need to make the best recommendation possible to the Board of Education.  The goal is to complete this work in March of this school year.   The DAC will be asking staff, parents and community members for input and I invite you all to participate when the opportunity becomes available. 

I am excited and pleased to be here at Pennfield.  I look forward to working together with you to give the very best educational opportunity for all students to attend the Pennfield Schools.  We have important work to do and I, as well as the members of the Board of Education need your help, thoughts and commitment to get this work done for our children.  My door is always open to you and you can contact me at school at 961-9781.   Thank you for the warm welcome you have given me and I know together we can give all our children a great experience here at Pennfield Schools.  Go Panthers!
