Superintendent Search Information

The Pennfield Board of Education has finished the search process and has hired a new superintendent.

Assisting the Board was the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a service organization that supports the work of school boards throughout Michigan.

December 15, 2021 – The Board offered the Superintendent job to Stephanie Lemmer and she accepted. She will be starting on January 31, 2022

December 11, 2021

The Pennfield School Board has decided to narrow the field and pursue one candidate after
interviewing four candidates on December 11 for the superintendent position. The finalist for
the position is Stephanie Lemmer, current superintendent in Centreville since 2017.

The first round candidate interviews were scheduled for about one hour each. Board members
asked the candidates questions regarding vision for the school district, communication style,
management and decision-making style, vision for technology, and many others. Candidates
also were able to offer opening and closing statements. There were several staff and
community members present and offered feedback on the candidates.

The second round will be held on December 15 and will include a tour of the district for Ms.
Lemmer beginning at 3:00 p.m. and then a reception for staff to meet her at 4:00 p.m. at the
high school library.

A second round interview will be held beginning at 7:00 p.m. that evening
in the library. The public is encouraged to attend.

Second round interview is as follows:
Wednesday December 15
7:00 p.m. Stephanie Lemmer, Ed.S., Superintendent for Centreville Schools since 2017.
Previously, she served as Director of Head Start for Kalamazoo County 2013-17, Principal in
Comstock 2011-13, literacy specialist and literacy coach 2006-11, and a classroom teacher
2002-06.
