This week, some of our Pennfield High School students had the opportunity to tour Albion College, giving them a chance to explore a college campus and learn more about the many paths available after graduation.

Experiences like this help students think about their futures and discover what opportunities might be the right fit for them. Whether that means college, entering the workforce, serving in the military, or pursuing other career pathways, opportunities like this allow students to explore what their next steps could look like.

A big thank you to the Pennfield High School administration and staff for helping make opportunities like this possible and for continuing to support our students as they explore their futures.

At Pennfield Schools, we are proud to help our students prepare for success in whatever path they choose.

Wednesday, February 11 was previously scheduled as an early-release day but it will now be a full day of school. February 11 is a State of Michigan Count Day. Student attendance for the full day helps ensure our schools continue to receive support for programs, staffing, and services. Dismissal, transportation, and after-school programs will follow the regular full-day schedule. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Dunlap Reminders:

After three days, the pick up and drop off line has improved, but it is still taking more time than we would like. We would like to limit the amount of time you are waiting in this line, but we need your help to do so. Please do the following to help speed up the process.

1. Make sure your name tag is visible until you student gets into your car. Many of you show the person calling names and then put it away. Please leave it visible so we can assist kids to the cars more quickly. It is helpful if it is placed on the passenger visor, so we can see it and it is not in your way the rest of the day. Just turn the visor down when in line and flip it up when your child gets into the car. Many people do not have the tag in the car. This too slows down the process.

2. Have your child sit on the passenger side of the car. Have them ready to get out. This allows them to get out of the car quickly. They should not be waiting for us to open their doors. We unload cars the entire length of the coned area and are not opening all doors.

3. Pull forward as far as you can. We will load/unload as many cars as we can.

4. Pick up line does not start until 25 minutes before dismissal time. If you arrive prior to the times below, park in the HS parking lot until the time listed.

Normal Days: 3:00
1 hr Early Dismissals: 2:00
1/2 Days: 11:30

5. If you are coming from M-66/Capital Ave NE: You will turn left into the high school main lot (traffic light). There should not be anyone turning left between the high school and Dunlap. This entrance is for cars turning right off of Pennfield Road only.

6. Lastly, please be patient. We have had numerous cars pull out of line and speed through the lot. This creates an unsafe environment for our kids. Please stay in line and follow the correct departure route. The route goes out through the MS circle drive. The Dunlap Parking lot is the bus loop during this time, so we should not have cars driving through the bus area to exit.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation in keeping every student safe. Together we will make this process run more smoothly.
